| Michelangelo chose a spot in the front of Santa Croce for his tomb, so that the first thing he would see on Judgement Day would be Brunellschi's Duomo dome through the doors of the church. The central bust is Michelangelo, and the three full-size sculptures represent Sculpture, Architecture, and Painting. |
