Hermgasse. (I took this from the top of the town hall tower )

The widest lane from the market-square to the Castle gate is the Hermgasse (lane of Lords). Councillors and Mayors came from Patrician families and they preferred to live in this area of the town. Emperors and Kings have stayed in some of these stately houses with their beautiful courtyards. **

(The Tauber is a pretty small river, but large enough to supply water to the mideval town. Of course it had to be hauled up hill to storage reservoirs which have been turned into fountains.)
