To Missoula on the Northern Parks Ltd. |
Saturday May 27, 2000 - Missoula The first night sleeping on the train went reasonably well. Our accommodations are luxurious by train standards. All of the cars are old and refurbished. There are five sleeping cars: the Yellowstone Park, Glacier Park, Colorado River, Yerba Buena, Monterey, and an observation/dining car, the Silver Scene. Our car, the Monterey, has two compartments and a lounge. The compartments have private showers. We each have a single bed next to each other, which is folded down for use at night. When the beds are down they go from wall to wall and there is less than three feet of space beside them. We each have our own door (which we have to use when the beds are down) and our own sink and little toilet room, which is also the shower (very similar to a small motor home). During the day, the beds are up and we have two chairs.
