Friday Evening, September 27 - Hoquium

After leaving the Hoh Rain Forest, we resumed our trip south on US101 along the coast. There are so many RVs around here and so many RV parks. The parks are short on anemities and ambiance, usually being just a gravel parking lot with no hookups.

We spent the night at Hoquiam's Castle Bed and Breakfast, Hoquim's Castleoverlooking Gray's Harbor in the small town of Hoquiam, Washington. It is a beautiful Victorian mansion from the early days of timber production, filled with antiques. We stayed in the Knight's room, which had a copy of the Lincoln bed along with lots of antiques.

We went to a restaurant for dinner where I had grilled oysters and Richard had grilled clams. They have a cornmeal breading on them and are then grilled as opposed to the more common frying. They were excellent and didn't have all that grease.
