Thursday, September 26 - Seattle

We are in Seattle en route to Portland, where, in three days we will board the Sea Bird for a trip up the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Since US Airways does not go to Portland, we decided it would be a good chance to tour parts of Washington State that we hadn't seen before. Our driving plans included the Olympic Peninsula, the Pacific Coast, and Mount St. Helens on the way down to Portland, and Mount Ranier on the way back.

After arriving late in the evening at Sea-Tac International, we rented a car for a three day driving trip to Portland, and headed for the Holiday Inn Express which is near the Airport. The route from Seattle to Portland is highlighted in pink. The return route is green.
