Zion Canyon is located in the southern section of Zion National Park. The Virgin River has cut a relatively narrow space between the two rock walls of Navajo Sandstone. The canyon is easily seen from viewpoints and trails close to the canyon floor and accessible by a free shuttle. Several moderate hikes take you from the river to higher points with views of the valley below.
